Barbara Melvin
Vice President and Business Development Officer
Wells Fargo Bank

Barbara Melvin is with Wells Fargo Bank where she is a Vice President and Business Development Officer. Barbara has over 24 years in banking and finance. She has progressively responsible positions having started as a part-time teller and advancing as a District Manager to her current role in Business Banking. Her specialties are Commercial Loans, Deposits and Treasury Services, which has resulted in a client base with revenues that range from $5 to $25 million.

Since arriving in Southwest Florida in 2001, Barbara has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to community service, which helped propel her in the business arena. These include president of Dress for Success, vice president of The Haitian Coalition of Collier County, vice president of the NAACP-Collier County Branch, president of the Small Business Resource Network of Southwest Florida; Banking representative and a committee chair for the Florida Advisory Council on Small and Minority Business Development; and, a member of the Collier County Education Foundation, Florida Diversity Council and many other organizations.

Barbara has won many awards and accolades for her community service as well as her job performance at Wells Fargo Bank. Barbara is one of the Champions for the 2014 Champions for Learning. The event will take place in March 2015. Barbara is featured in the February 2014 issue of the Pinnacle Magazine for FGCU for winning the State and Regional Volunteer of the Year Award presented by America’s Small Business Development Center. Barbara also won Volunteer of the Year for Wells Fargo for 2014. Barbara was recognized in March 2009 as a Woman of Achievement by the American Association of University Women (AAUW) and was selected as Gulfshore Business Magazine’s 40 under 40 in September 2009 for distinguishing herself in her profession and community.

Barbara is married to Daniel Melvin, a well-known professional singer in Southwest Florida.
