Founder's Welcome

I am truly honored to welcome you to the 6th Annual Florida Diversity & Leadership Conference on April 30, 2015 at Kovens Conference Center. As the state of Florida manages ever changing demographics, we've also learned to meet the opportunities accompanied with such changes. These opportunities include: Opportunities for corporations to expand their market share, opportunities for greater diversity of thought, opportunities for greater innovation, opportunities for organizations to recruit from a more diverse pool of candidates, opportunities to examine your corporate culture and ensure that your workplace promotes inclusion, opportunities for organizations to become a Community Champion for Diversity & Inclusion, and finally the opportunity for everyone to value and respect people's differences.

There are many different motivations for the development of this conference. The conference allows local business professionals and leaders to network and launch business development. The speakers, panelists, and moderators enable the attendees to gain further insight regarding diversity and leadership throughout the various sessions. We have found that the Diversity & Leadership Conference has also had a direct impact on members in our community, and has allowed open conversation about topics that impact each of us daily. The primary reason for developing this conference is linked to the information it gives people about Florida's future. Florida is one of the most diverse states in the nation, and continues to diversify more and more. If corporations and organizations do not learn how to effectively influence and oversee diversity, it will be a challenge for such companies to remain competitive.

Lastly, I would like to take a moment to thank all of our sponsors for their financial contributions because without them, there would not be a Florida Diversity & Leadership Conference. I would also like to thank our speakers for being a part of this incredible conference and serving as true subject matter experts in their related fields. Many individuals needed to travel for this event, and I am immeasurably grateful for your time and support. Furthermore, without the conference's organizers this event would not have been possible, so thank you for a job well done.

Sincerely,
Dennis Kennedy
